Information We Collect

We collect information you choose to provide and information needed to operate the app and website, including:

• Account information, such as your email address, authentication identifiers, sign-in method, and basic account settings.
• Child profile information entered by caregivers, such as name, birthdate, sex, family membership, and optional child avatar photos.
• Baby care records, including nursing, bottle feeding, pumping, sleep, diapers, solid foods, growth measurements, vaccination records, health entries, reminders, notes, timestamps, and related preferences.
• Family and sharing information, such as family names, caregiver roles, invitations, member aliases, notification preferences, and entitlement status.
• Device and app information, such as installation identifiers, device platform, app version, push notification tokens, Live Activity tokens, sync status, and diagnostic events.
• Subscription information, such as app user IDs, purchase status, entitlement status, and subscription events handled through app store payment systems and subscription management providers.
• Support information, such as the email address you use to contact us and the content of your support request.

Device Permissions

Some features ask for device permissions. You can grant or revoke these permissions in your device settings.

• Notifications are used for reminders, shared activity updates, and Live Activities when you enable those features.
• Location may be used to show nearby nursing or baby care spaces. We use this to power the map experience and do not use it for advertising.
• Photo library access is used only when you choose a child avatar image.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

• create, authenticate, and secure your account;
• save, sync, display, and back up baby care records;
• support shared caregiving across families and devices;
• send reminders, shared activity alerts, and Live Activities;
• manage subscriptions, paywalls, and paid feature access;
• respond to support requests;
• debug crashes, sync failures, and service reliability issues;
• protect against misuse, fraud, and unauthorized access;
• comply with legal obligations.

How Information Is Stored and Synced

Leafling stores app data locally on your device so the app can work quickly. If you sign in or use sync features, your data is also sent to Leafling servers and service providers so your family can access the same records across devices. Authentication is provided through our authentication systems, and synced data is stored in backend systems used by Leafling.

When We Share Information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only as needed to run Leafling, including with:

• infrastructure, authentication, database, and hosting providers;
• subscription and entitlement providers, including app store payment systems;
• crash reporting and diagnostics providers, where diagnostic details are used to identify and fix problems;
• notification delivery services when notifications are enabled;
• other caregivers in a family that you join or create, according to their role and permissions;
• authorities or other parties if required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.

Children's Privacy

Leafling is not directed to children, and children should not create accounts or use Leafling directly. Parents, guardians, and authorized caregivers may enter information about a child to manage caregiving. If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to Leafling without appropriate consent, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide Leafling, maintain account security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and preserve service integrity. Baby care records generally remain until you or an authorized caregiver delete them or request deletion. Some records may remain for a limited period in backups, audit logs, or deletion records before being removed according to normal retention practices.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You can update many records in the app. You can also contact us to request help with account access, data deletion, or privacy questions.

Leafling does not currently sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. If that changes, we will update this policy and provide required choices.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including authenticated access and encrypted network connections. No app, website, or storage system is completely secure, so please use a strong password and keep your device secure.

International Processing

Leafling and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. These countries may have privacy laws that differ from those where you live.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Leafling changes or as legal requirements evolve. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as updating this page or providing notice in the app.
